A natural insect-repelling solid shampoo bar formulated to help ward off unwanted “little friends” from your pooch.  This shampoo is made in the same traditional way as our lovely soaps but with even more coconut oil making a rich & creamy lather with a dense foam of tiny bubbles. We have added a blend of essential oils for their reputed insect-repelling qualities, including a dash of peppermint which is said to kill fleas & ticks by attacking their nervous system. We also use Neem oil (a natural healing & soothing oil from the Neem tree in India) valued as an insect repellent.  We have added Vitamin E & Shea Butter for a shiny coat & healthy skin and Aloe Vera soothes delicate skin. It has a fresh, clean scent heling to neutralise the smell of anything nasty your dog may have rolled in… !

Bug Off soap – an essential gift for dog walkers

Starting with our lovely soap base we add insect-repelling essential oils of Citronella, Lemongrass & Tea Tree. Citronella helps to keep mossies at bay and Lemongrass helps keep sandflies & horseflies away.  We use soothing Aloe Vera to help relieve the itch of insect bites, rashes, windburn and dry skin irritations.  Cocoa butter and Glycerine is added to nourish and moisturise itchy, dry skin. We recommend using this in the shower in the evening.  You really can smell the insect-repelling essential oils on your skin afterwards and, if you can smell them, so can the biting bugs! 90g e bar.

Paw Barrier Balm – to protect your pooches paws

Dog paw barrier balm is packed with moisturising and nourishing ingredients to soften and protect your hound’s paw pads. Use as a protective barrier balm before walking outside. The olive wax we use acts as natural protection to reduce moisture loss and prevent irritants like road salt from touching delicate paw pad skin. We have used a carefully selected blend of essential oils chosen for their healing and soothing properties. We have included nourishing oils, rich in vitamins and minerals such as Wheatgerm, Hempseed, Kukui, Vitamin E together with Shea and Mango butters and soothing Calendula infusion. Comes in a handy pocket-sized 10g e slide-lid tin.

Hand & Body Lotion with Citronella – a must have gift for dog owners

Hand and Body Lotion with Citronella has natural insect-repelling properties to help ward off biting critters that always seem to be about whilst out walking our pooches. We make it with a base which includes oodles of Cocoa and Shea butter.  It has a light, non-greasy formula making it easily absorbed into the skin. We have added essential oils of Citronella and Lemongrass because they have been used for centuries as insect repellents together with antiseptic Tea Tree. This can be used as a natural, gentle insect repellent which doesn’t contain harmful chemicals, to help deter biting insects like mossies, horseflies, no-see-ums and sandflies. For dog walkers to apply in the evening after a bath or shower for maximum absorption.

Our Bug Off candles are made with the best quality natural ingredients. They’re handmade in our Cornish workshop, so care is given to producing each and every one. Our wax is specially formulated to give the scent a good “throw”-that is, it’ll disperse well and scent a large area. 

Burn time; minimum of 20 hours. As our candles are all made with natural soy wax, they burn cleanly, and slowly, with none of the nasty black sooting associated with cheaper paraffin wax candles. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Essential Oils Used;

Citronella Essential Oil; The most well-known of the insect repelling essential oils, particularly for mosquitos. It also helps to promote relaxation, and is an effective odour neutralizer.

Lemongrass Essential Oil;  Widely used as an insect repellent, it also helps to relieve headaches and boost energy levels.

This scrubby seaweed body polish is formulated with a blend of sea salts (including a sprinkling of sea salt from Cornish waters), bound together with a blend of deeply-penetrating oils and butters including Mango butter, Sweet Almond oil and Virgin Olive oil. Green and white clays gently draw out impurities. Finally, we’ve added Frankincense and Patchouli essential oils, used for centuries for their soothing, healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

How to Use;

Take a small pebble-sized scoop of seaweed body polish, and massage it gently into damp skin, using circular movements. Leave on the skin for 3-5 minutes for all the ingredients to work their magic, before rinsing off. Shower as normal to remove any residue. For best results use on warm damp skin. Contains Shea Butter, which hardens in cooler conditions but will melt gently on contact with warm skin. Do not use on broken skin.

Leave on for a couple of minutes for all the oils to soak in, then rinse off with warm water, leaving your skin polished, cleansed, deeply nourished and silky-smooth. The scrub is a firm paste at normal room temperature, but melts gently on contact with warm skin.

Sugar; Our sugar scrubs are based on the finest quality British sugar, so this has to be a key ingredient! 

Shea Butter; Contains several fatty acids needed to retain the skin’s moisture and elasticity.

Evening Primrose Oil; Wonderful for dry or mature skin, due to it’s high GLA content.

Sweet Almond Oil; Easily absorbed, leaves the skin soft & satiny smooth. Rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E.

Vitamin E Oil; A powerful antioxidant,used extensively in skincare products.

Olive wax; A fraction of Olive oil which is in a solid state at room temperature, this helps to form a barrier to seal moisture into the skin. It’s a Vegan alternative to beeswax.

Cornish Honey- Used for centuries for it’s  naturally antiseptic & cleansing properties, honey also acts as a humescent, helping to seal valuable moisture into the skin. Ours comes from aperies in the lovely Fowey Valley.

Lavender essential oil; Used widely in aromatherapy for its calming, relaxing and skin-soothing properties.

Patchouli essential oil; A fabulous oil for skincare, it has been used to improve scars and stretch marks, for tissue regeneration, and to reduce wrinkles.

Palmerosa essential oil; Has a balancing action on the skin’s sebum production.

Key Ingredients in our Relax and Unwind Massage Bar:

Cocoa Butter: Extracted from the cocoa bean, this melts at close to body temperature. It’s a wonderful moisturiser for dry, itchy, chapped, or sunburned skin, and is often used to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy.

Shea Butter: Extracted from the nut of the Mangifolia trees which grow wild in the African savannah, this contains several fatty acids which are needed to retain skin moisture and elasticity.

Macadamia Nut Oil: One of the best regenerative oils available, Macadamia oil is a fabulously protective oil which has been used as a healing oil for scars, sunburns, minor wounds and other irritations.

Kukui Nut Oil: An excellent penetrating oil which softens skin and soothes sunburn, chapped skin and other minor skin ailments.
