I have a favourite poem; “Warning” by Jenny Joseph. I like to read it from time to time to stop myself being so boring, normal, and sober. I’m not especially interesting, intelligent, witty, or stylish. But I do work hard and believe in my passions, and this year all that hard work seems to be reaping rewards in multiples.
I started my business eight years ago as a cottage industry from our garden shed, believing I could make a better bar of soap than I found in the shops where I lived. That belief has guided me through some busy, manic, sleepless years, and today that belief has been endorsed by some of the top industry professionals. I’m very proud that Sapooni has been the recipient of not one but ELEVEN Industry Awards in the last two amazing years.
It’s taken a lot of hard work, dedication, and some crotchety days. So, I’d like to open my new blog on our stunning new website by thanking all the people who helped me get here; without sounding like a Hollywood acceptance speech, Sapooni wouldn’t be here without fabulously supportive family, friends, customers, stockists, and suppliers (and the lovely Awards judges!). Thank You everyone, these are our awards, as I couldn’t have done it without you!
Now that I’ve worked so hard, can I have the odd day off to wear red and purple, pick flowers from other people’s gardens, sit down on the pavement when I’m tired, and not set a good example to my children?
